My name is Jen. I have a contagiously funny husband, three awesomely gorgeous daughters, a knack for design, a love for writing, an obsession with kids fashion, a secret desire to be a photographer and a curfew of 10 pm. WHO'S WITH ME?

LISTEN TO YOUR MOTHER, DAMMIT
We know them. We cherish them. Some of us are them. And, whether we like it or not, at some point, they’re usually right.
If you haven’t guessed, I’m talking about mothers.
Whether you’re a writer, blogger, mom, dad, aunt, uncle, sister, brother, have friends with kids, or have a lovely mom of your own, you probably have story to tell about motherhood. It could be a remarkable moment that motherhood changed your life. Or the moment that your own mother inspired by moving mountains. Or even that moment your niece drew an entire mural on her parent’s bedroom wall, because, “that’s how much she loves them.”
Whatever the story may be, Listen To Your Mother Providence wants to hear it.
Listen to Your Mother is a national series of live readings by local writers in celebration of Mother’s Day. Born of the creative work of mothers who publish online, each production is directed, produced and performed by local communities, for local communities.
The first-ever performance in Rhode Island — and the inaugural show for Providence (as one of the 24 cities selected to host)– will take place on Saturday, May 4 at 2:00 pm at the historical Providence Public Library Auditorium. 12-15 selected readers will share their stories on stage, in hopes of taking the audience on a well-crafted journey that validates motherhood in all its complexity, diversity and humor.
The call for submissions will run through Friday, March 15th, and all auditions will be appointed the weekend of March 16th & 17th. All interested participants (that includes you, too, DADS) should submit a 3-5 minute piece to perform. Original work and previously published works will be accepted. The cast for the May 4th show will be announced on March 25th.
